Grand discussion approach

There is a grand discussion held once every week. In this session, 7-8 personalities of various streams discuss the cases of day-care and indoor patients, lead and guided by the medical rehabilitation experts (mostly Dr M. M. Ghatak) and formulate a joint strategy for treatment.

This results in a multi-disciplinary coverage of the treatment and produces faster improvement in the overall patient condition.

• Hand functional treatment - there is a good hand unit run by occupational therapists

• Botox and Phenol injections are given

• Joint injections and soft tissue injection in different rheumatological conditions

• Specialised bedside modifications and activities

• Urological rehab with self I. C. C. and bladder training

• Gait evaluation and training

• Pressure sore management (with surgical intervention)

• Audiogram, tongue stimulation and speech management

• Dysphagia management

• Hemiplegic shoulder care

• Specialised nursing care in relation to sore and position of the limb

• Specialised dietary modification, internet access and communication with the western rehab centers

• Specialised drugs and diet in different cases for rehab
