• A report of 1^st International Conference On Rheumatological & Neurological Rehabilitation by Dr. M.M Ghatak on 23^rd & 24^th November, 2003

Medical Rehabilitation Center, the only private sector hospital in Eastern India for treatment of thousands of Paralytic & Disabled. people of West Bengal, organized a two-day Conference on Rheumatological & Neurological Rehabilitation on 23^rd & 24^th November, 2003 at The Indian Science Congress Association. Since Rehabilitation forms an integral part of treatment of Rheumatological & Neurological patients, the chief purpose of this Conference was to motivate the doctors and conscious people of our country to accept and recognize the importance of Rehabilitation for the benefits of the patients and society at large. The conference was inaugurated by Mr.Shyam Sundar Gupta-Humble Ex-Mayor & Ex- M. P. & advocate, Kolkata High Court and was enlightened by the present of famous luminaries like U.K based renowned Rheumatologist Dr. Terence Gibson -President, Guy's and St.Thomas'Hospitals, RFC, London. Dr.Milind Deogaonkar-Head of the Dept of Neurosurgery, National Neurosciences Center, Kolkata, Dr. Prof. T. K. Biswas Ex-Professor & Head of the Dept. of Medicine, Calcutta National Medical College. Dr. R. P. Sengupta-Consultant senior Neurosurgeon, Newcastle General Hospital, U.K. & Chairman & visiting consultant, National Neurosciences Center, Kolkata, Father of Neuromedicine in Kolkata -Dr. N. N. Sarangi, Dr. Jan Jakubowski, Neurosurgeon -Royal Hallanshire Hospital, Sheffield, England. A good number of eminent orthopaediclans, neurologists, physical medicine experts & general medicine practitioners also participated.

The Conference provided a solid ground where all the medical stalwarts of India & aboard met and exchanged many innovative and latest developments in the field of Rehabilitation. The conference was a great success entirely because of the painstaking, relentless effort of Dr. M. M. Ghatak and his sincere team.

It is with these successive & repeated ventures organized by Medical Rehabilitation Center, a new Rehabilitation Movement has gathered momentum & slowly but surely spreading its wings to reach newer heights in the Medical World-sincere thanks to the only "Man behind the Mission", a firm believer & lone fighter of Rehabilitation Movement in Kolkata - Dr. M. M. Ghatak.

In the coming years we will be organizing similar kinds of conferences on a bigger scale where we sincerely seek your wholehearted & active participation.

• World Disabled Day celebration every year on 3rd December

A walk is organized by the Medical Rehabilitation Center for disabled and paralysed patients of West Bengal to observe the World Disabled Day, in the early morning. Many people including doctors, nurses, eminent political personnels and renowned film personalities, physically challenged and disabled persons participates in the rally. Dr. M.M. Ghatak, the Director of Medical Rehabilitation Center working for the paralysed and disabled people, is the main person to organize such a beautiful rally. Mr. Rabin Deb (MLA), Mr. Masadur Rahaman Baidya (the physically challenged swimmer, who crossed the English Channel) and some of the few dignified personalities who joined us in the past. Medical Rehabilitation Center, founded and run by Dr. M.M. Ghatak serving disabled people affected from stroke, spinal and brain injury, other Orthopaedic & Neurological diseases, are having integrated and multidisciplinary approach of Medical Rehabilitation system oriented with the Western Rehabilitation Science. The rally for the disabled person on the eve of "International Day For The Disabled" really has added a new dimension in the field of rehabilitation in Kolkata.

• Celebration of World Peace Day on 1^st September, 2006

It is well known to you that Medical Rehabilitation Center at TRA Hospital is working for paralytic and disabled patients for last five years with full dedication.

On the eve of "World Peace Day", Mr. Dilip Manna, who has been seriously injured in the recent war and bomb blast in Lebanon by the Israel soldiers, is being received by Medical Rehabilitation Center with the entire responsibility of treatment. MRC and the entire doctor's society of Kolkata is standing in the whole world in this "World Peace Day" (1 ^st September).
On this eve, we have arranged a small but touching program with lunch at 1 PM inside TRA Hospital premises. Eminent doctors, social workers and eminent personalities of Kolkata was present in this occasion. I would like to spread this great message of World peace to this war prone society.

• Annual conference & Inaugration of Life Line Medical Rehabilitation Center & Publication of Rehab Special in saturday club 10^thjune, 2006

We organized the annual conference of Medical Rehabilitation Center held on 10th June, 2006 at Saturday Club at 7 PM along with publication of our supplementary (REHAB - SPECIAL). We were highly delighted to get Mr. Pratim Chattopadhyay, Hon'ble minister, who inaugurated and participated this program as a Chief Guest.
        We inaugurated our second high profile Rehabilitation. unit (4 bedded) at Lifeline Nursing Home. Our supplementary REHAB - SPECIAL was also published in this auspicious occasion.
