It is a hard fact that Eastern India alone, almost staggering 1 crore of population suffer from the harsh reality of paralysis inflicted by stroke, brain or spinal injuries. As a result, his past, active life comes to a standstill and is engulfed by depression, desertion, distress and despair. He starts feeling neglected and becomes a burden of his family and subsequently that of the society. 

This unforeseen incident may not happen not only in case of poor people but the high profile, privileged section of the society. What these person now need is total rehabilitation to be able to get back to the mainstream of the society as one of its useful member. But unfortunately, there is no person to provide hope of a better future to these persons, to provide them a secured shelter to help them to lead a life of respect and dignity. 

With the sharp vision of realizing the increasing enormity of this problem and with the iron determination of making a difference to the lives of these people, Dr. M. M. Ghatak, a young Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation expert has taken on the challenge of touching the lives of such numerous, unfortunate people and bring back smile on their suffering faces.

This journey of struggle started as ISPAR-Institute of Stroke, Paralysis & Arthritis Rehabilitation in March 2000 - A humble 100 Sq.ft home rehabilitation unit near Manicktala. To meet the increasing number of demand of such patients, Dr. Ghatak and his team was eventually successful in setting up the Medical rehabilitation Center at Park Circus, an indoor set up, rendering dedicated services to the thousand suffering people. Many eminent Neurologists & important personalities including, ministers, higher executives, directors, sportsmen, judges etc are continuously supporting and guiding us in our journey.

Medical & Rehabilitation Trust the latest venture organized and constituted by a struggling, dedicated and benevolent group of doctors and devoted persons headed by Dr. Ghatak with the aims to eradicate disabilities from our country. The objectives of this organization are:-
